Javier del Toro is an Industrial Design Engineer from Barcelona, Spain. He is a materials enthusiast and a furniture maker.
Combines his work in Modo Barcelona with teaching classes in ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design and Engineering and UPC-ESEIAAT (Polytechnic University of Catalonia).
All collections presented by Modo Barcelona are locally produced by metalworkers who weld the individual pieces by hand combined with the latest control numerical techniques to bring our clients high-quality products.
Each piece is a design exercise that combines the duality of handcraft and industrial processes: this creates our universe of furniture, accessories and sculptural lighting. Our products are therefore created to convey emotions to every owner through the use of simple although complex use of lines and the application of our carefully selected Mediterranean color palette.
